Twomultimedia INTERVIEWS with individuals who work in FIELDS related to renewable energy sources

The following interviews were taken during the 2015-2016 school year by members of our team: Interview on Andrew Ehrnstein.

an Interview with Mr. Eirnstein on the topic of solar energy

  • What is your position and employer?                                                                                                                                                                    Senior energy consultant for solar city

  • What is your title and some of your basic job responsibilities?                                                                                                                      Meet with homeowners and design a system if their house is compatible and telling them their options.

  • How long have you been involved in solar energy?                                                                                                                                         8 years and I love it.

  • How do you use solar energy on a daily basis?                                                                                                                                                 My house is solar powered and it is very nice.

  • How have the recent achievements in solar energy impacted how use use solar energy in your career?                                          Cost of solar panels have gone down but efficiently. More people buy more from us up to 3-4 a month. Around 24 sets sold.

  • What are the limitations of solar energy in the ways that you use it?                                                                                                         There are financial risks and with the home owners decisions.

  • How do you see the materials you use everyday connect to solar energy?                                                                                             That you use most things electric and solar can be used for that.

  • What are the largest opportunities in the next 2, 5, 10, years involving solar energy?                                                                            2 years increases the solar grid. 5 years have solar city solar panels made from solar city. 10 years expand to different country's

Interview with Tom Farrow on the topic of wind energy

  • What is your position and employer?

I am the owner of Wind Cycle, and I am self employed.

  • What are some of the things that Wind cycle does?

Wind Cycle sells wind turbines imported from other countries, but we do more than just sell we teach and go to schools to put on demonstrations for the classes from primary grades to colleges.

  • How long have you been involved in wind energy?

I have been interested in wind energy for about two years before I started my company in 2008, so in total about 10 years.

  • How do you use wind energy on a daily basis?

I have a 450 Watt wind turbine with a 30 Watt solar panel and controller complete with a battery.

  • How have the recent achievements in wind energy impacted how use use wind energy in your career?

Recent advancements are making them more affordable, and more durable, theses have increased popularity increasing business.

  • What are the limitations of wind energy in the ways that you use it?

The initial cost, as well as the fact that many people that they are eye sores, although I think that these things are capable of overcoming.

  • What are the largest opportunities in the next 2, 5, 10, years involving wind energy?

Some of the larger opportunities in the next two years are that they will increase dramatically in popularity, in five years construction will be almost fully complete, and in ten years wind energy will have become one of the major three energy sources: Wind, Solar, and Hydroelectric becoming the dominant over coal and oil.
